About Us

Committed to Conservation, Guided by Science

Roger Pietron, company founder

At Alaska Wild Fish, responsible harvesting isn 't just a practice—it 's our promise. We operate with the utmost care for the ecosystem, using gear and techniques that result in minimal bycatch—and when the occasional flounder or other species is caught, it 's swiftly and safely returned to the water. We work hard to lower our carbon footprint, from how we fish to how we transport our product, always choosing sustainable paths whenever possible.

This mindset is rooted in the values of our Founder and Father, Roger, a University of Minnesota Wildlife Biology major and lifelong steward of nature. With his deep respect for wild ecosystems and passion for preservation, he 's instilled in our family the belief that this fishery—one of the last fully sustainable food sources on Earth—is not just a gift, but a responsibility.

We 're proud to be part of a growing network of Community Supported Fisheries (CSF)—a movement that connects small, sustainable harvesters like us directly to customers who care about where their food comes from. By participating in a CSF, you're helping preserve Alaska 's wild resources and supporting responsible fishing practices that protect future generations.

Back home in Minnesota, we extend that same commitment by partnering with Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) organizations that promote local food systems and community wellbeing. Whether it 's fresh-caught salmon or homegrown produce, we believe in food with a story—honest, healthy, and harvested with care.

Our Mission

Wild-Caught Salmon, Honestly Delivered

Family picture

Our mission is simple: Make the best wild salmon on Earth available to more people, at a price they can feel good about.

We flash-freeze our fish at peak freshness and bring it straight to the Midwest—no middlemen, no gimmicks, and no surprise charges. While many competitors rely on marketing tricks like auto-renew subscriptions, we do things differently. We keep it honest, transparent, and personal. You 'll never find fine print or unwanted commitments here—just top-tier, responsibly harvested salmon, priced fairly.

We believe everyone deserves access to food that 's clean, wild, and real—from a family that catches it with care.
